Trauma Critical Care Surgeon opportunity in Abilene, TX

Great opportunity to join our trauma, acute care general surgery program at our medical center located in Abilene, Texas! This medical center is a level III trauma center offering facilities with cutting edge technology, 14 operating rooms, and a staff who create and nurture a welcoming environment.

Position Highlights:

• Employee model with full benefits package including professional liability insurance with tail plus CME allowance
• $25k signing incentive

• Limited billing and coding responsibilities

What you can expect:

• Work 7 days on/7 days off; 24 hour shift
• 2 surgeon model with APP support
• 12 hours of primary call then 12 hours of back-up call coverage
• Do not need to remain in-house during their 12 hour back-up call coverage
• Support from advanced practice clinicians
• Moderate trauma with a variety of cases
• Evaluation of all trauma and emergency general surgery consults
• Outpatient follow-up in clinic
• Round on in-house patients

Qualifications:

• Fellowship in surgical critical care or trauma
• MD or DO: board certified
• Active or in-process Texas medical license
• Willing to relocate to the Abilene area
